Visit PLU

Join Our Community

Visiting PLU is one of the most important things you will do during your college search. For that reason, we hope you take us up on our invitation to visit campus. When you do, you’ll become better acquainted with the special atmosphere at PLU.

Check out all the options for your personalized visit including those that are outlined below. Make a note about what you would like to do while you are here. If there is something special you have in mind that is not mentioned, jot that down too. Then give us a call, or schedule a visit on-line.

Meet a counselor. Talk one-on-one with an admission counselor. Ask everything that’s on your mind. Counselors in the Office of Admission are ready to answer your questions about admission, academic programs, financial aid, cost, campus activities, residence halls and much more.

Take a tour of campus. It’s a great introduction to PLU. Tours are guided by student ambassadors who know all the essential information about our university. They are available by appointment Monday through Friday at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.; and Saturday during the academic year at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Attend a class. This is a great opportunity to get a feel for the academic atmosphere at PLU. You can also request to meet with an athletic coach, music director or professor.

Stay overnight. We recommend staying the night, then attending class the next morning. You can stay with a friend on campus, or we can arrange for you to stay with one of our Red Carpet Club student hosts. You will be given meal passes and a guest pass to athletic facilities and campus activities. Please bring a sleeping bag, pillow, towel and a book to read – your host is a college student who will have homework. Overnights are available Monday through Thursday during the academic year for high school students.  Overnight accommodations on Sunday nights will be considered on a case by case basis for students flying in from out of state.  Please schedule your overnight visit at least two weeks in advance.

When to come (and times to avoid) and what to bring. We are open for daily visits year-round Monday through Friday. We are also open Saturdays during the school year from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. To experience a typical day as a PLU student, try to avoid weekends, vacation times, and the first and last two weeks of each term. Call and we can plan your visit to coincide with campus activities like concerts, plays and athletic events.

In addition to the instances listed above, the Office of Admission will be closed on the following dates:

  • May 25, 2009 (Memorial Day)
  • Saturdays falling between May 23 and September 5, 2009
  • July 3 (in observance of Fourth of July)
