Advice

What’s one thing every prospective PLU student should know?

Do not be intimidated by the application process. There are many resources and people eager to help. Be ready to experience college for yourself. Your classes, clubs and friends will be unique to you.

What do you like about living in the Northwest?

I like the fact that extreme weather is lacking in the Pacific Northwest. I used to live in south Florida and do not miss the heat and humidity. The friendly atmosphere, in addition to the value placed on environmental issues, make it easy to call the Pacific Northwest home.

How is PLU different from other universities?

The students, faculty and staff distinguish PLU from other universities. There is a very friendly atmosphere here on campus that helps students reach their academic, athletic and personal development goals. PLU’s small size allows faculty, coaches and other leaders to be accessible to all students while still providing many of the amenities found at larger universities.

What’s one thing that still surprises you about PLU?

You will be surprised by the plethora of opportunities available to you at PLU. I am most amazed that a mid-sized school can send students to all 7 continents.

Name one way that PLU has changed your life.

PLU has made me a lifelong learner. I became much more interested in reading, catching up on the news of the world and the politics that shape our communities.
